Review: Believe – The Eddie Izzard Story

Eddie Izzard is one of the most recognisable comedians out there, and this is his latest DVD offering
If you’re looking for a quick laugh, be prepared for something a fair bit deeper!
Watching this DVD showed me how much time I spend with my head in the sand, I had no idea that Watchdog had villified Eddie Izzard, claiming that his shows had too much repeated material so he was technically ripping people off. This being key in his withdrawal from the limelight, this DVD documents his return.
The setting is his creation of a complete new set of jokes and routines for his comeback tour. Throw in a complete history of his career, the highs and lows and you have a cracking 103 minutes of laughing and crying.
If you aren’t aware of Eddie’s comedy, I found my favourite clip is the Star Wars Canteen scene. Most of his material is usually up to that level, infact in the infamous Watchdog investigation, one happy customer said ‘he could read a menu and it would be funny’.
I can assure you that anyone receiving this as a gift will be more than happy, but if you’re trying to buy it now it might just get there in time, so don’t delay!
