The Black Swan is a twisted psychological thriller starring Natalie Portman as a ballet dancer performing in Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake.

The movie received a great reception at the Venice International Film Festival then opened nationwide some months later. Natalie Portman won an oscar for the role of Nina.

The production of Swan Lakew required a ballerina to play both the White Swan and Black Swan. Nina (Portman), was a perfect fit for the White Swan, while Mila Kunis as Lily, matched that of the Black Swan. When the two compete for these leading parts, Nina begins a dark path to become the Black Swan.
